Phonological Awareness
These are basic reading skills, also known as "decoding." If associating letters or syllables with sounds is challenging, you may want to consider tutoring in this area.
Formal/Academic Writing
This is an area to consider tutoring if your child finds translating their thoughts or feelings into the written word challenging. This could mean organizing paragraphs or essays, but also includes spelling and grammar.
Reading Comprehension
A student has strong reading comprehension skills when they can recall key pieces of information and summarize narratives. If your child can read what’s on the page but can’t use the content, this is a skill we can consider strengthening
Creative Writing
If your child has stories to tell and wants to share them with the world, I can help them learn how. This covers basic topics such as the three-act structure, character development, dialogue, showing vs. telling, and much more.
